This training course discusses how to integrate a detailed BIM project and manage the energy modeling process throughout the design stages. The standard practice for architectural 3D modeling is to build coordinated information models between disciplines. After this session, you will be able to apply proven modeling techniques to simplify these models and ensure they integrate seamlessly.
- Integrate a multidisciplinary BIM project for energy modeling by simplifying a detailed Revit model to facilitate a seamless import in the IES Virtual Environment (VE).
- Learn how to use the VE's interoperability Navigator to troubleshoot and mitigate errors.
- Exchange building data between the VE and the Revit mechanical model to communicate the simulated results, such as building loads variables.
- Coordinate an architectural design modification from the federated BIM project by merging the new elements with the existing BIM-integrated energy model.
Jean is a Business Development Manager with IES for the North-East US/CAN region. He has a background in architectural technology specializing in building science for Passive House. Some of his projects include daylight modeling for healthcare projects, including glare mitigation and solar shading using the VE. Jean is a Certified Engineering Technologist and LEED Green Associate.
